(New York, NY -- 29, August 2005) Gargamel Music and Junior P productions have joined collective forces to bring Brooklynites a Pre-Labor Day bashment featuring some of Jamaican music’s biggest names and fresh new talents. On Sunday, September 4th, the Gargamel aka Buju Banton will headline a down and dirty dancehall extravaganza alongside Bounty Killer, Junior P., Tony Curtis, Ghost, Jr. Demus and the latest dynamos from yard Bling Dawg and New Kidz. Plucky Ranks and Sluggy Rank are also scheduled to make a special guest appearance.

“Brooklyn will be burning,” warns the Banton, who made his first trek to the borough back in the early ‘90s “The massive displays such a passion and love for music that takes the energy to a next level every time!” Hosted by Hot 97’s Jabba, Squeeze of Linkup Media and Dahved Levy of WBLS, the exclusive showdown will take place at The Elite Ark at 900 Sheffield Avenue (between Stanley and Worthman), in the heart of BK’s Caribbean community. Doors open at 10pm. Admission is $40.00. Advanced tickets can be purchased at any Sally’s Restaurant. Call (718)723-9850 or (718)723-9852.

Buju Banton boasts a string of current hit singles smoldering internationally: “Ride This” on the Steely & Clevie Sleepy Dog riddim, “Too Bloody” featuring Anthony Cruz, and a masterful collaboration with the late, great Peter Tosh “Must get A Beaten,” which has held down the number one spot on both the South Florida and New York reggae charts for several weeks now. The video for “Magic City,” the lead single from Buju’s forthcoming album Rasta Got Soul is in rotation on MTV Jams, MTV U, MTV Africa, RETV, Hype TV, Reggae Top 10, Music Choice, Channel U UK, Trace TV France and many other fine outlets. The new album is due Fall 2005 on his Gargamel Music label.
