Ce'Cile Leaves Record Label

(Kingston, Jamaica) Dancehall diva Ce'Cile has been patiently awaiting what looks like a never to be released debut album with Delicious Vinyl Records. The dancehall artist, who signed with Delicious Vinyl back in 2003, underwent an almost immediate management change transferring management to record executive/artist manager Leslie Cooney. Due to the disappointments with the label, Ce’Cile has recently severed ties with the label / manager Leslie Cooney and is once again a free agent.

Ce’Cile is maintaining a positive approach to her music and marketing. She states; “I’m very excited to have a fresh start. My years at Delicious Vinyl didn’t pan out the way I’d hoped, but I still believe in Independent Labels and working forwarding in my career with the same dedication I’ve had over the years. There’s a lot of exciting things happening for me right now from collaborations, touring, videos and movie opportunities”.

Fully aware that you will end up “dead fi hungry” if you don’t keep your memento on, Ce’Cile has been selective with her recordings due to her prior label obligation but has continued with other opportunities. In addition to touring with Lady Saw in the beginning of 2005 capitalizing off their popular recording LOSER, Ce’Cile has had a number of appearances on local stages in Jamaica and is presently on a European tour with TOK.

While Ce’Cile did manage to stir international anticipation due to her collaboration CAN YOU DO THE WUK with Sean Paul, featured on his multi-platinum selling DUTTY ROCK album, the delay in her album release has gotten fans restless. The new Giggy Riddim by production team/musicians Leftside and Esco was too tantalizing to pass up and got Ce’Cile into the voice booth. She laced the track with the sophisticated upbeat and surprisingly clean HOT LIKE DAT.

In efforts to revamping her look and focus on her current fan base, Ce’Cile is anticipating heavy marketing over the next several months. Her website has been updated with fresh photos including an ultra sexy pin-up calendar inspired pictures. Further, a creative photo shoot was done recently providing her with not only sexy “fantasy” Ce’Cile shots, a slew of new shots to be used in print layouts but also some very “Vogue” influenced looks. That’s not it; Ce’Cile has just wrapped up shooting in a local movie filmed in Jamaica. While acting has not necessarily been on her agenda, she’s always looking for opportunities to promote herself and her career. The movie “Glory to Glorianna” is a true rags to riches story, based on the beginnings of Hotel Glorianna and the struggles of hotel owner “Glorianna”; how she built up the hotel and eventually found true love. Based on the book; “Glory to Glorianna” and scheduled for release the end of the year directed Lenny Little Whyte.
