World Clash Returns to Brooklyn, New York

New York, New York - September 2005 - Irish and Chin’s World Clash series of events traveled to Jamaica, Antigua and Canada this year. Now, the flagship event is returning to Brooklyn, New York, where the monumental World Clash 1999 set new standards for the sound clash industry.

The phenomenal World Clash is slated to take place at Brooklyn’s hot spot, Elite Ark on October 8, 2005 during Columbus Day Weekend. This stellar competition, which currently boasts the likes of Bass Odyssey, Mighty Crown and Black Kat as competing sounds, will entertain fans in the nation’s hub of Dancehall music and Caribbean culture, Brooklyn, New York. The event will be hosted by Noah, one of Brooklyn’s popular selectors.

“We thought that moving to Brooklyn, New York was ideal because of Brooklyn’s stronghold in dancehall and sound clash culture,” says Chin of Irish and Chin, Inc. “The move to Brooklyn takes the event back to the basics, where World Clash gained its popularity.”

World Clash has become a staple in the dancehall community. Each year, Irish and Chin select the who’s who of the international sound system industry to compete before diehard clash fans. World Clash, which draws thousands of revelers, is the most anticipated annual dancehall event in the country. Fans inundate the venue in support of their favorite sound systems.

As the most talented sound systems grace the World Clash stage, their careers often change forever. Once a sound wins a World Clash title, they are permanently embedded in the minds of dancehall fans. This year’s line up, which is currently being finalized, will be second to none. With top sounds already confirmed, a thrilling and intense clash awaits fans.

“This year’s World Clash (New York) has an exciting line-up of some of the best sounds the industry has to offer,” says Chin of Irish and Chin, Inc. “We are currently considering requests for the final sounds from sound clash fans. We want to secure the presence of additional international sounds at World Clash, while pleasing clash fans.”

Black Kat is determined to retain their title when they face off against big league sound systems on October 8, 2005. If Black Kat pushes hard, they may just take home their sixth World Clash title and second this year (Black Kat won World Clash Canada in July 2005). Bass Odyssey, who returned to the clash arena earlier this year, is dedicated to reclaiming their previous World Clash (New York) fame. Additionally, the sound is passionate about seizing a second World Clash title this year, following their impressive victory at World Clash Jamaica in March 2005. Things will surely heat up when these two sounds from country display their skills before thousands of clash fans.

Mighty Crown is ready to increase their victories this year by securing the World Clash (New York) title. With victories at U.K. Cup Clash and World Clash Antigua, “The Far East Rulers” may just be steps away from recapturing their infamous World Clash glory. With Mighty Crown facing off against Black Kat and Bass Odyssey, World Clash 2005 will be more than a show.
